Riverside Cottage is a charming 18th Century stone cottage which has been tastefully renovated to accommodate modern comforts. The original stonework has been carefully preserved as an authentic feature. Within the cottage you can find all the facilities you would expect in the comforts of your home, including a fully-equipped kitchen and a large outdoor terrace.

We offer beautiful cottages to rent in Wye Valley. The Wye Valley AONB is one of the most dramatic landscapes in the South of Britain. It straddles over 126 square miles of ancient woodlands and historic sites, with the earliest evidence of human habitation dated back to over 12,000 years ago. 

The River Wye, the fifth-longest river in the UK, gives its name to the designated Area. Over the years this area has attracted countless visitors from across the globe, eager to explore the breathtaking scenery of the area. Regardless of your group size, age or interests, the Wye Valley AONB has plenty to offer. For those keen to explore the great outdoors, you will certainly not be disappointed. There are countless walks of varying difficulties, all with rewarding views and more often than not, a great local pub along the way. Whether you prefer a leisurely stroll through tranquil woodlands or a challenging scramble, there are plenty of options to explore. 

The Wye Valley is also well-known for its archaeological and historical importance, from Palaeolithic settlements through to Norman developments in the 11th Century. In 18th Century Wye Valley saw the birth of British Tourism; the unspoiled river scenery and range of habitats has inspired art in many forms, including many illustrated guides dedicated to the area. Tintern Abbey, constructed in the 13th Century, remains one of the most magnificent views in the Wye Valley AONB.

Now in the modern times you can find plenty to see and do in the Area. Within easy reach of our central location you can access activities such as canoeing, climbing and golf. Our cottage has a large outdoor terrace and garden which is ideal for a barbecue on a summer afternoon. The Wye Valley has plenty to offer throughout the year, even in the winter months. Although snowfall is rare in South Wales, you can take a brisk winter morning walk along the River Wye, or rest by the open fire and immerse yourself in the wintry atmosphere.

Wye valley is a fantastic place to bring the entire family, no matter how many legs they have. You will find no shortage of dog-friendly activities and attractions throughout the Forest of Dean, and if required, we can recommend local boarding kennels which offer your pooch(s) a fun day filled with exercise while you are enjoying yourselves. 

 We welcome up to three well-behaved dogs in the downstairs area of the cottage. If you wish to bring your pet along, please let us know at the time of booking.

From our central location you can find numerous marked walks with detailed information to its difficulty and what views you can expect. Within the cottage you can find a guide on local walks and information but if required, your host will be more than happy to recommend additional dog-friendly facilities and attractions.
